Macro Flower Photography Tip #4 – Take notice of unusual or interesting light, and then take action!
I was eating dinner last night on our patio right as the sun was setting and noticed that my crabapple tree was completely illuminated with that quality of light you only get right after the sun rises, or right before the sun sets. You might of heard these two times of day referred to as the “Golden Hour” or the “Magic Hour”. So, I promptly grabbed my camera and captured some photos including the image above and the image on the far right below. I have also included a couple of other images that I captured previously during the Golden Hour.
In the process of writing this post I discovered a website that helps you determine the Golden Hour where you are. The link is provided below. Check it out and see if it can help you take advantage of this magical light sometime in the future.
